Manifesto of a Scab Vendor

I am an artist located on Gabriola Island, easily accessible from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, and Vancouver BC. I work from a home studio, located in an idyllic, natural setting. Visitors to my studio enjoy privacy and an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Lodging is available for those travelling for large-scale, multi-day projects.

Tattoos change lives, not just bodies. Tattooing has stood the test of time, through generations and changing fashions, because it is a transformative, personal art. Tattoos have resisted the efforts of conformative culture to drown self-actualization. Tattoos bring out the bold spirit to be ourselves and create the space to fly our own flag.

I perform transformative art. Tattooing is a passion that I have pursued for over 30 years. I have worked in street shops, from the trunk of a car, and on the great stage amongst the masters of my trade. Along this journey I have been able to grow in my craft while retaining an instinctive drive to overcome uncertainty, fear, self-doubt, and walk towards self-mastery.

A tattoo is a hard-won token of our own personal power. My primary purpose has always been helping people of all stripes find expression on their skin. I work to help you find the images that put a charge in your heart; images that get a gut reaction; images that straighten your spine and let you step boldly into your life with the full expression of your personal power.

I work privately to give each person my full attention so that they can get as much as possible out of their experience. I want each and every one of my clients to wear the best that I can craft.

I specialize in large-scale custom tattooing and cover-ups, and excel at black and grey, Japanese, fantasy, and surrealist themes. I am willing to tackle almost anything. I do colour work; however I don’t do colour portraits (only grey-scale) or water colour tattoos. Choose your artist carefully. I may not be your artist. I am opinionated, salty, and a little bit spicy. My manner can be off-putting for some. I don’t do sugar coating and I am a little bit weird, yet I operate from a foundation of openness and curiosity with as much room for other’s ideas as for my own. My respect for intuition is as much a part of my craft as the black flag I proudly fly.
